Thank you for your interest in Baylor University’s Master of Public Health program! Baylor enrolls a new cohort of MPH students each fall semester. Below, you will find information on requirements, processes, and deadlines for admission to Baylor’s MPH program.
Application Requirements
- GRE Scores*
- Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
- Personal Statement
- Two Reference Letters
- Official Transcripts
*Note about GRE scores: All applicants to Baylor’s on-campus MPH program must take the national Graduate Record Exam (GRE). Baylor does not accept scores from other exams, nor do we consider previous training or work experience as a substitute for the GRE. The most successful applicants submit a GRE score over 300 and are in the 50th percentile or higher for individual verbal and quantitative scores. A minimum writing score of 4.0 is also preferred. Baylor accepts the highest score in each exam area.
Application Process
Baylor University only accepts program applications via the SOPHAS application system. After creating a SOPHAS account and starting the application process, you will search for and select Baylor University Public Health Program. Find additional application instructions and resources through the SOPHAS Applicant Help Center.
Deadlines
Priority Application Deadline* | December 15, 2024 |
Final Application Deadline** | April 15, 2025 |
First Class Day | August 25, 2025 |
*Prospective students who apply by the Priority Application Deadline will receive priority consideration for scholarship awards and assistantship opportunities.
** The Baylor MPH Admissions Committee may agree to review a late submission for program entry if it is completed by mid-April. However, late applicants are rarely considered for assistantships.
International Students
In addition to the above requirements, foreign national and permanent resident applicants are required to take at least one of these two exams: TOEFL or IELTS. View minimum score requirements as outlined by the Baylor Graduate School.
International applicants are strongly encouraged to submit their SOPHAS application as soon as possible to ensure application materials are received on time. In addition, meeting the application deadline helps ensure that you have ample time to secure a Visa and other international documentation.
Graduate Assistantships
Baylor MPH students have the unique opportunity to secure a graduate assistantship during their first year in the program. The assistantship application is due December 15 and is a separate application and process from the SOPHAS admissions application.
You do not need to wait until you are accepted to Baylor to submit your assistantship application. However, assistantship applications are considered only for students who have been accepted to the program and have committed to attend Baylor.
