Baylor Africa New Life Initiative
Following the signing of a MOU in 2020, Baylor University announced the establishment of a partnership with Africa New Life Ministries, a nonprofit organization headquartered in Portland, Oregon and Rwandan run, creating the Baylor Africa New Life Initiative. This partnership, led by Baylor’s Robbins College of Health and Human Sciences, seeks to address and resolve systemic poverty through research and sustained engagement with the communities served in the Republic of Rwanda by Africa New Life Ministries (ANL).
Rural Active Living Measurement Tools
The Rural Active Living Assessment (RALA) Tools and the Rural Active Living Perceived Environmental Support Scale (RALPESS) were designed to help researchers and community members collect data on the existence and perception of physical environment features and amenities, town characteristics, community programs, and policies that could potentially influence levels of physical activity among residents living in rural communities.
Rural Play Streets Guide
The Guide to Implementing Play Streets in Rural Communities provides guidance and recommendations to community groups, schools, faith-based institutions, or other organizations, on how to plan and put on a Play Street in rural communities.
