Career Opportunities
Graduates of Baylor University's Master of Public Health (MPH) in Community Health Science program pursue fulfilling careers in various sectors dedicated to enhancing public health. They often work as health promotion specialists, public or clinical health educators, health information specialists, program directors, outreach coordinators, patient or treatment adherence educators, health program managers, community organizers, and health intervention specialists.
These professionals are employed across diverse settings, including healthcare facilities, non-profits, community organizations, pharmaceutical companies, and government agencies.Graduates of Baylor's MPH in Community Health Science program are also eligible to sit for the certification exams to become a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) or a Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES).
Curriculum
The Community Health Science curriculum includes the core Public Health courses and additional courses on assessment, planning, evaluation, and research methods in community and public health. Our students are trained in competencies aligned with those of the Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES), preparing them well for the CHES examination and employment opportunities in a variety of global community health agencies.
The 42-hour degree plan is completed in 2 years.
