Elizabeth Kwon, PhD
Assistant Professor
Dr. Elizabeth Kwon is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Health at Baylor University. She completed her MA and PhD at Indiana University in Bloomington. Her research focuses on the interplay among biological, psychological, and social factors that drive risky behaviors and mental health challenges. Specifically, her current research investigates how childhood adversity affects one’s physiological reaction to stress and development of addiction vulnerabilities (e.g., emotion dysregulation, impulsivity) among adolescents. She is interested in psychological protective factors such as resilience, self-control, and emotion regulation. She uses a quantitative methodology to model longitudinal developmental pathways linking early life stress with adverse behavioral or mental health outcomes.
